![]() ![]() Simply compare the read and write performance of the other drives. In terms of performance, the SSD is returning some pretty good results to us. (The results are color coded when executed in the terminal.) If you choose to save the results it will output an imitation of the same save file that crystaldiskmark makes when you save it's results. You can give it a shot for free because it is available for download. It also supports different types of test data (Random, 0 Fill, 1 Fill), has basic theme support, and supports multilingual input. When it comes to reads and writes, CrystalDiskMark can measure sequential reads and writes as well as random reads and writes of 512 KB, 4 KB, 4 KB (Queue Depth = 32) size. We are also seeing both read and write IOPS over 1 million which is definitely not the norm. ![]() Something that stands out about this specific benchmark, however, is that very high low random 4K read and write throughput of 92MB/s read and 365MB/s write. 64K results would be more accurate for a drives performance, because even tiny files like web browser cache are roughly that size. When using the All option, the tool will run all the available tests, including the sequential reads and writes and three different 4KiB random tests. they represent the bare minimum performance youll see. Using the third drop-down menu on the right, select the drive (HDD or SSD) that you want to test. It is handy for evaluating the speed of different storage devices, both portable and local storage. Crystal DiskMark results are very strong with over 7GB/s throughput and 1 million IOPS. Originally Posted by Kramy CDM is more relevant to SSDs. CrystalDiskMark is a freeware disk benchmark utility. DiskCheckup can also execute built-in Disk Self-Test (DST) routines implemented by the vendor to detect drive failures. Ive got a PC set up with 1x 500gb mx500 as the boot drive and a windows 10 mirrored tiered storage space consisting of 1x 500gb mx500 and 1x 500gb mx300 for the ssd tier and 3x 8tb cheapish seagate smr hdds for the storage. It is a disk benchmark application that assesses the performance of sequential and random read/write operations of varying sizes on any storage medium. ![]()
